At a news conference in Victoria, British Columbia Premier John Horgan announces his government has approved a request to defer old growth logging on the territory of three Vancouver Island First Nations. The Huu-ay-aht, Pacheedaht and Ditidaht First Nations requested the government defer logging in the Fairy Creek and Central Walbran areas for two years while they prepare their own forestry management plan. Premier Horgan also responds to questions about his government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
