Native Women’s Association of Canada CEO responds to government's MMIWG action plan – June 3, 2021
Lynne Groulx, CEO of the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC), responds to the release of the federal government’s MMIWG national action plan. The plan comes two years after the publication of the final report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. On Tuesday, the NWAC announced that it was stepping away from the planning process for the government’s plan, stating that it was dysfunctional and toxic. The association released its own action plan and is now calling on the United Nations to get involved.
