In Edmonton, Alberta Education Minister Adriana LaGrange provides an update on the return of in-class learning in the province. She announces that kindergarten to grade 12 students will return to class on May 25 as previously scheduled, in all but one region of the province. Students in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo will continue with at-home learning for one additional week, with a targeted return to in-person learning on May 31. Case numbers in the region, which includes Fort McMurray, have not trended downward at the same rate as in other regions of the province.
The minister is joined by Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, with her update on the province’s response to the pandemic.
