Alberta Premier Jason Kenney provides an update in Calgary about the provincial response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined from Edmonton by Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province’s chief medical officer of health. The update comes amid Alberta’s decision to stop administering first doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine due to concerns over supply. The province will reserve its remaining supply of roughly 8,400 doses for second doses. Alberta has administered approximately 255,000 first doses of AstraZeneca and 2,200 second doses.
