Julie Dabrusin, the parliamentary secretary to Canadian Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault, holds a virtual news conference to discuss the Commons heritage committee’s study of the federal government’s bill (C-10) to update the Broadcasting Act. An amendment to Bill C-10 has sparked public outcry over the potential regulation of user-generated content on social media platforms. Minister Guilbeault says he has now amended the legislation to protect free speech and to address other concerns raised by Canadians.
