COVID-19: P.E.I. residents now required to submit self-isolation plan before returning to province

In Charlottetown, Dr. Heather Morrison, the chief public health officer of Prince Edward Island, and Marion Dowling, Health P.E.I.’s COVID-19 response lead, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Dr. Morrison announces tighter self-isolation requirements. Effectively immediately, residents who must travel outside P.E.I. are asked to register their self-isolation plan online before returning to the province. Dr. Morrison says this will
help individuals develop plans that meet the province’s self-isolation requirements. Exemptions will be made for rotational workers, truck drivers, and approved one-day travellers. Non-residents have had to document and submit a self-isolation plan as part of their pre-travel approval application. Nearly 70 per cent of P.E.I.’s COVID-19 cases are directly linked to travel.
