In Halifax, Iain Rankin, the premier of Nova Scotia, and Dr. Robert Strang, the province’s chief medical officer of health, provide an update on the provincial response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. The province is reporting 146 new cases of COVID-19. The premier also reports that 37 fines were handed out over the weekend in the Halifax area for violations of public-health measures.
