COVID-19: Newfoundland and Labrador premier comments as health-care workers depart to help Ontario

Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Andrew Furey speaks briefly with reporters at an airport hangar in St. John’s as a volunteer team of health-care workers from the province depart to help Ontario in its fight against the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Allison Furey, an emergency physician and wife of the premier, and Jennifer Hinks, a critical care nurse practitioner, also speak with reporters. The nine-person team is made up of three doctors, five nurses and a nurse practitioner. They will be helping Toronto hospitals and members will stay anywhere from ten days to three weeks, with one person scheduled to stay until the end of May. (April 27, 2021)
