In Mississauga, Ont., Mayor Bonnie Crombie provides an update on the city’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. She is joined by Dr. Lawrence Loh, Peel Region’s medical officer of health, Dr. Abdu Sharkawy, infectious disease specialist at Toronto Western Hospital, Sam Rogers, Mississauga’s director of enforcement, and Deryn Rizzi, Mississauga’s fire chief and director of emergency management. The update comes one day after Dr. Loh introduced a region-wide public-health order to close workplaces where there have been more than five COVID-19 cases within a 14-day period. Workplace outbreaks have been identified as a significant contributor to the ongoing spread of COVID-19.
