In Fredericton, Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, and Dorothy Shephard, the New Brunswick health minister, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. In her remarks, Dr. Russell announces that Edmundston and the upper Madawaska region will enter full lockdown as of midnight. Other communities in Zone 4 will stay at their current alert level. The heightened restrictions come following an increase in cases of apparent community transmission of COVID-19 in the region.
