Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole holds a news conference on Parliament Hill as the House of Commons resumes sitting after its winter break. He comments on the delay in COVID-19 vaccine shipments to Canada. The Conservative leader also faces questions on the resignation of Governor General Julie Payette, who left her position after a report revealed that there was a toxic work environment at Rideau Hall. O’Toole comments as well on new U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to revoke the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline expansion project. He is also questioned about the expulsion of Derek Sloan from the party’s caucus following revelations that the Ontario MP accepted a donation to his leadership campaign from a known white supremacist. A majority of Conservative MPs voted last week to remove Sloan from caucus. (January 25, 2021)
