12:30 CT / 13:30 ET: Manitoba update on COVID-19
In Winnipeg, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister discusses plans for reducing some restrictions that are in place due to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief medical officer of health. These changes will go into effect on January 23 and will include allowing households to designate two people for indoor visits, as well as allowing non-essential retail stores to open at 25 per cent capacity. The province’s northern region will continue under existing restrictions as case counts there continue to be high.
