In Fredericton, Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, Dominic Cardy, New Brunswick’s minister of education, and Premier Blaine Higgs provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Premier Higgs announces that Zone 4 (Edmundston region) will be moving back to the red level of alert on January 18, following an increase in the number of cases in the area. The announcement comes as the province records 36 new cases of COVID-19, a single-day high since the start of the pandemic, including 24 cases in Zone 4.
