Ontario COVID-19 update: Premier Doug Ford warns of dire modelling, further measures – Jan. 8, 2021
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and provincial cabinet ministers Christine Elliott (health) and Stephen Lecce (education) provide an update on their government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They are joined by Dr. Barbara Yaffe, Ontario’s associate chief medical officer of health. Responding to questions from reporters, the premier warns that additional public-health measures will likely be implemented in light of dire new modelling data. The new data is expected to be released in the next week.
