In Edmonton, Jason Kenney, the premier of Alberta, and Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province’s chief medical officer of health, provide an update on the response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic.

In his remarks, the premier announces that schools will return to in-person learning on January 11, 2021, as originally planned, while current restrictions on businesses and social gatherings will be extended until at least January 21, 2021. The premier also faces questions from reporters about his handling of recent out-of-country travel by members of his government and staff.
