Speaking to reporters via videoconference, federal ministers Marc Garneau (transport), François-Philippe Champagne (foreign affairs), and Bill Blair (public safety and emergency preparedness) discuss details of the federal government’s newly announced requirement of COVID-19 testing for air passengers flying to Canada. As of January 7, 2021, all travellers aged five or older on international flights to Canada from abroad will be required to provide, prior to boarding, proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the previous 72 hours.
