P.E.I. to ease COVID-19 restrictions for organized gatherings, sports – January 5, 2020
In Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Premier, Dennis King, the province’s chief public health officer, Dr. Heather Morrison, and Health P.E.I.’s COVID-19 response lead, Marion Dowling, provide an update on the provincial response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Dr. Morrison announces that the province will ease some COVID-19 restrictions starting January 6, 2021 at 8:00 AM. Gatherings of up to 50 people organized in venues such as theatres and churches will be permitted. Organized recreational activities and team sports will also be able to resume within certain public health parameters. Questioned on the possibility of re-establishing the Atlantic bubble, Premier Dennis King says his province will not be rejoining it before January 25.
