On Parliament Hill, Kevin Lamoureux, parliamentary secretary to the president of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and to the government house leader, and Steven MacKinnon, parliamentary secretary to the minister of Public Services and Procurement, discuss the federal government’s legislation (C-19) that would enact measures to ensure Elections Canada will be able to hold a possible election safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Measures include allowing Canadians to vote during three days over a weekend. The temporary changes to the Canada Elections Act will likely not come into effect however until next spring.
