Federal govt. announces $6.5M for COVID-19 voluntary isolation site in Peel Region – Nov. 26, 2020
Health Minister Patty Hajdu holds a videoconference to announce $6.5 million in federal funding over 16 months for the Peel Region to establish a voluntary isolation site for residents who have COVID-19 or have been exposed to it. The site will help individuals who cannot safely self-isolate due to reasons such as crowded housing, The Peel Region is currently under lockdown, along with Toronto, amid a spike in COVID-19 cases. The minister is joined by Dr. Lawrence Loh, Peel Region’s medical officer of health.
