Ontario’s auditor general discusses her report on province’s response to COVID-19 – Nov. 25, 2020
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Bonnie Lysyk, Ontario’s auditor general, discusses findings contained in her report on the province’s handling of the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Her report identifies a number of systemic problems with both the planning and management of Ontario’s response to the pandemic. It reveals that the emergency measures management plan was not up to date when the pandemic started. The report also criticizes the leadership of Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams, and blames the government for not taking immediate action to ramp up testing capacity.
