Nunavut update on COVID-19: Active cases rise to 153 – November 25, 2020
In Iqaluit, Joe Savikataaq, premier of Nunavut, and Dr. Michael Patterson, Nunavut’s chief medical officer of health, provide an update on the territory’s response to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). The territory is reporting 11 new cases, bringing the total of active cases to 153. The community of Arviat now has 115 positive cases. Nunavut entered a two-week lockdown on November 18 in an effort to slow the spread of the virus. All schools, government offices and non-essential businesses are closed. The territory reported its first confirmed COVID-19 case on November 6.
