Manitoba COVID-19 update: Province introduces automated contact tracing call system – Nov. 24, 2020
In Winnipeg, Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief public health health officer, provides an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. The province is introducing an outbound automated calling system to expand case and contact monitoring. Manitoba recently introduced tighter restrictions on gatherings and in-store sales as it continues to see record numbers of COVID-19 cases. The restrictions are scheduled to end on December 11, but Dr. Roussin says it is likely that some measures will be extended. The province is also still considering the possibility of extending the holiday break for students.
