Ont. Premier Doug Ford on COVID-19, expansion of mobile crisis services – November 17, 2020
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and provincial Health minister Christine Elliott provide an update on their government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They are joined by Michael Tibollo, Ontario’s associate minister of mental health and addictions, and Sylvia Jones, the province’s solicitor general. The premier announces $37 million to expand mental health services in the justice system. The funding will be used to expand mobile crisis teams, hire additional staff, and support the creation of programs tailored for First Nations communities.
