Ontario premier on COVID-19, additional $680M to expand broadband – November 4, 2020



Ontario Premier Doug Ford makes an announcement in Minden Hills and responds to questions about his government’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by provincial cabinet ministers Rod Phillips (finance) and Laurie Scott (infrastructure), as well as Peter Bethlenfalvy (president of the Treasury Board), Andy Letham (mayor of Kawartha Lakes) and Brent Devolin (mayor of Minden Hills). The premier announces an additional $680 million to improve and expand broadband and cellular access in underserved communities across the province. This new funding will appear in the three-year, COVID-19-focused budget that will be released by the Ontario government the following day.
