Manitoba premier urges residents to follow public-health advice as COVID cases surge – Oct. 26, 2020
In Winnipeg, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister provides an update on his government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He says his government is introducing legislation that will allow workers to take protected leave during the pandemic and apply for federal benefits. The federal government’s sick-leave program came into effect September 27 and Manitoba’s legislation would be retroactive to that date. In his remarks, the premier also urges Manitobans to follow public-health advice amid a surge in COVID-19 cases.
