MPs speak with reporters ahead of confidence vote – October 21, 2020

Liberal MPs David Lametti, Bill Blair, Deb Schulte, Rachel Bendayan, and Jonathan Wilkinson speak briefly with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal government faces a key vote that could trigger a general election. Conservative deputy leader Candice Bergen and Bloc Québécois MP Rhéal Fortin also comment. MPs are set to vote on a Conservative motion to create a special committee to investigate the WE Charity affair and other alleged ethical breaches involving the government. The Liberals have said that the vote on the motion will be considered a matter of confidence and the passage of the motion would trigger a snap election.
