Conservative MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill ahead of their weekly caucus meeting. Deputy leader Candice Bergen, House leader Gérard Deltell and MP Derek Sloan discuss today’s vote on their party’s motion to create a special committee to investigate WE Charity affair and other alleged ethical breaches involving the government. The Liberals said that the vote on the motion would be considered a matter of confidence and that passage of the motion would trigger an election. Public services and procurement critic Pierre Paul-Hus comments on a $237-million federal contract given to a company owned by former Liberal MP Frank Baylis for ventilators that have not been approved yet by Health Canada.
