Government House leader Pablo Rodriguez speaks with reporters on Parliament Hill about the motion from the Conservative party calling for the House of Commons to create a special ‘anti-corruption’ committee to examine the WE Charity controversy. The committee would consolidate multiple parliamentary investigations into the WE affair, as well as examine other potential conflicts of interest within the federal government. Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole has said his party is open to amendments concerning the name of the proposed committee. The Liberals assert that the motion shows a lack of confidence in the minority government and that its passage would trigger an election.
