B.C. education minister announces $57 million to build new school in Surrey – June 4, 2020



In Victoria, British Columbia Education Minister Rob Fleming provides an update on the province’s reopening of schools during the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Surrey-Panorama MLA Jinny Sims, Surrey-Green Timbers MLA Rachna Singh, and Surrey Board of Education Trustee Terry Allen also appear from Vancouver. B.C.’s K–12 schools reopened for in-class instruction on June 1. The B.C. government reported that nearly 60,000 students returned on the first day for in-class instruction. Attendance is optional and students who do attend will do so on a part-time basis.
