Richmond, British Columbia, 1 June 2020 — Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (M19P0078) into the 5 April 2019 striking of a shore crane by the container vessel Oakland Express at the Fraser Surrey Docks, British Columbia.
The TSB conducted a limited-scope, fact-gathering investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues.

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
