In Fredericton, Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, and Premier Blaine Higgs provide an update on the province’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two new cases of the coronavirus disease have been confirmed in New Brunswick, bringing the province’s total number of active cases to eight. The cases are all in the Campbellton region and have been traced back to a health-care worker who contracted the virus in Quebec and did not self-isolate for 14 days upon his return to New Brunswick. One of the new cases involves a long-term care facility worker. To date, there have been 128 confirmed cases. Before the new outbreak, 120 people had recovered from their illness.
