B.C. launches agriculture sector job portal to address labour shortage – May 28, 2020

In Victoria, British Columbia Agriculture Minister Lana Popham announces the launch of an online job portal to provide farmers, seafood businesses and food processors with a one-stop site for their hiring and planning needs. The minister says the government is expecting a shortfall of 6,000 to 8,000 seasonal agricultural workers across the province this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and border restrictions that have been put in place. B.C is hoping to attract domestic workers to the industry.
