Military provides update on CAF helicopter crash – May 1, 2020



In Halifax, Rear-Admiral Craig Baines, commander of Maritime command component, and Colonel James Hawthorne, 12 Wing Shearwater wing commander, discuss the April 29 crash involving a Canadian Armed Forces CH-148 Cyclone helicopter during a NATO training exercise off the coast of Greece. The death of one crew member was confirmed on April 30. The Department of National Defence has announced that search and rescue efforts have shifted to a recovery operation, as the remaining five crew members are now officially considered missing and presumed deceased.
