B.C. finance minister on province's emergency benefit for workers – May 1, 2020



British Columbia Finance Minister Carole James speaks with reporters in Victoria about the province’s emergency benefit for workers affected by the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Individuals can start applying May 1 for the one-time $1,000 benefit. The tax-free B.C. Emergency Benefit for Workers (BCEBW) is a top-up for individuals who qualify for federal employment insurance or the new Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB).
