MPs convene via videoconference to debate the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting format, which comes in response to concerns about maintaining physical distancing during the pandemic, was established in a motion passed by the House of Commons on April 20, 2020. MPs agreed to convene as a special committee three days each week, with in-person meetings taking place on Wednesdays and meetings via videoconference on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
