In Iqaluit, David Akeeagok, the deputy premier of Nunavut, David Joanasie, the minister of education, and Dr. Michael Patterson, Nunavut’s chief medical officer of health, provide an update on the government’s response to COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the territory. The education minister announces that schools will be closed for the rest of the school year. There are no reported cases of COVID-19 in Nunavut, but the territory’s public health emergency has been extended until April 30.
