Ontario Premier Doug Ford declares state of emergency due to COVID-19 – March 17, 2020

In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford declares a state of emergency as the province attempts to slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). He is joined by members of his cabinet and Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health. As of March 17, Ontario has the highest number of cases of COVID-19 in Canada, with nearly 200 confirmed cases.
