Victoria Street West Improvements Project on Schedule for Completion

The Victoria Street West Improvements Project is currently on schedule for completion by early summer 2020.

Throughout March, crews are completing electrical and other utility service changeovers for Victoria Street West businesses and residents. Some lane closures will be in place to accommodate the changeover work. Please expect delays.

Once the changeovers from the old services to the new services are complete, hydro poles along the corridor will be removed, pedestrian signals will be installed at the crosswalks in front of The Mustard Seed and Sun Life, and remaining lamp standards will be put in place.

Landscaping work, including installation of bricks, ornamental fencing, and planting beds, continues along the corridor.

Motorists are reminded that the 30 km/hr reduced speed limit continues throughout the construction zone and is in effect 24 hours a day. Both the north and south sidewalks throughout the corridor are fully accessible to pedestrians. Temporary bus stops are in place on Victoria Street West near Polar Battery (outbound) and on Seymour Street West across from BCLC’s upper parking lot (inbound).
