Prime Minister Justin Trudeau holds a news conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he is attending the African Union Summit. The prime minister will also visit Senegal as part of his official trip to Africa from February 6 to 13.
He is looking to gain support from African nations for Canada’s bid for one of two temporary available seats on the United Nations Security Council. Canada, Ireland and Norway are competing for a two-year term starting in 2021. The vote will be held this June at UN headquarters in New York City.
