The official welcoming ceremony for Justice Nicholas Kasirer takes place at the Supreme Court of Canada’s courtroom in Ottawa. Justice Kasirer was sworn-in as a judge of Canada’s highest court in a private ceremony on September 16.
His appointment fills the vacancy left by Justice Clément Gascon, who retired from the top court on September 15. Justice Kasirer was appointed to the Court of Appeal of Quebec in 2009. Prior to that appointment he was a law professor and law faculty dean at McGill University.
